Cloud, Cloud Come Again !!

During my post-graduation days, I read an article. It said that to keep a room clean, a positive pressure inside the room is needed. It means that if such a positive pressure is created through a ventilator system, outside dust would not be able to enter the room. Contrarily, a negative pressure would attract dust and particles

Ranchi is a place which is surrounded by hills and mountains from all sides. Once the clouds get trapped, it feels better in relieving itself rather than climbing the mountains and run away. A calm, slightly negative pressure attracted the clouds.

Once upon a time Ranchi was a hill station and summer capital. Even in the 1960’s, the population was well under one lakh. 90% land inside Ranchi district was covered with green flora. There was not a single high-rise building. Vehicles on the roads were scarce. There was negative pressure. Clouds came in running.

Things changed drastically. We were witnessing more arid and warm days than cooler and wet days. The pollution from vehicles and factories together with greenhouse effect created by high rise buildings congesting roads and lanes had created a positive pressure. This positive pressure was driving away clouds back beyond the mountains.

Corona virus lockdown for such a brief period seems to have upturned the malice of last 50 years. Since a fortnight, we are having regular rains when it becomes hot. Hot depression with negative pressure is more inviting.
